TECHNOLOGY

On Tuesday and Wednesday this past week, children had the opportunity to do activities on the Smart Board and/or the I-pads.  Two new activities were introduced on the I-pads.  In the following 3 photos is an activity called Sums Stacker.  The 4th photo represents an activity called Rush Hour.  Both of these activities provide excellent problem-solving opportunities for children.

On the Smart Board, children played Tic-Tac-Toe and also a rhyming game.

Discovery Day!

Welcome Back!

Today we read:

Then we discussed all the things a seed needs to grow.
We mentioned:
*sun
*dirt
*water or rain

We then discussed if a seed would grow without dirt.
Most everyone said no... so we are going to try it out!

We wet a paper towel and placed 4 beans in the towel and then put the towel in a Ziploc
bag.  We then taped the baggie to the window so our beans could get some sun!

We will keep you updated on our dirt-less plant seeds!

Discovery Day... Water Experiments

We estimated how many drops of water would fit on our penny before it 'fell-off' our penny!
We did a great job estimating!

Our second water experiment was trying to make raisins dance in water!
We added vinegar and baking soda to our water and
our raisins really danced!
Make sure to ask me why then danced!

(oops, our pictures loaded out of order... sorry!)

Our third water experiment was trying to turn a glass full of water over and
not having the water spill out!
We discussed how we made a vacuum...
make sure to ask me more details about this fun water experiment!
