Discovery Day with EGGS!

We discussed the different colors of eggs.
Many of us had never seen a brown egg before!

For our experiment today, we took two eggs and spun them.
One of the eggs would spin but the other one wouldn't.
We tried to figure out why!
We came up with a lot of great reasons...

*one might be heavier
*one was cold and the other warmer
*one was bigger

Everyone got a chance to spin an egg and then we broke them open to see what was different
about them!

We discovered that one egg was a solid and was was a liquid!
The solid egg, or the hard-boiled egg, spun but the
raw or liquid egg wouldn't spin.

Why?

The raw egg has movement in the inside since it is a liquid... so it won't spin.
The solid egg is able to spin because the material inside is solid and does not have
the ability to move around when spun!

Very exciting!
